      • RMS AM/PM Schedule- Students will now have the opportunity to attend school four days per week.  Wednesday will remain a remote learning day.  Students that were previous A day students (Monday/Tuesday) will attend from 7:45 AM -10:15 AM. Doors will open at 7:30 AM for A day students.  B day students (Thursday/Friday) will attend from 12:00-2:30.  Doors will open at 11:45 AM for B day students.
      • RMS In-Person Classes- Students will attend three 50 minute classes each day on a block schedule.  CORE classes (Reading, Writing, Math, Science, and Social Studies) will be the focus while students are learning in-person.  Physical Education remains a core class but will remain remote.  It is still a required course and students must still engage with coursework remotely.  Band and chorus will remain remote as well.  We hope to be able to offer some small group in-person PE, Band, and Chorus opportunities but those will come later.  Other grade-level electives will remain on the backburner at this time.
      • RMS Remote Wednesday- Students will have the opportunity to schedule virtual tutoring/support sessions with their teachers on Wednesday afternoons.
      • RMS Transportation- Transportation will be provided for both the AM and PM sessions.  We are asking parents that have the ability to transport to please do so.  This will help us limit the number of students on each bus, keeping under required limits placed on the school district by ISBE.  We are also expecting bus rides to be longer than usual with this new schedule.  Students may ride the bus for up to an hour, depending on the route.  A day (AM) students may be asked to load the bus as early as 6:44 AM.
      • RMS Food Service- Students will still receive food service at their homes on Wednesdays.  Students should eat breakfast or lunch each day before arriving at school as no food will be served at school.
      • RMS Student Absences- Students absent from school but able to participate virtually will still be asked to join the class via Google Meets.  We know that due to protocol, students may be absent for up to 14 days.  It is imperative, that if the student is able, they are still working remotely from home each day.

         RIVERTON MIDDLE SCHOOL INFORMATION

        • Enriched Remote Learning - Riverton Schools will remain in Enriched Remote Learning until at least the end of the 1st quarter.  The plan will be evaluated monthly.
        • Students should engage with their teachers and coursework each day.  For each day they do not engage (complete their attendance sheet, complete work, attend a meet), they are marked absent.  Attendance letters will be mailed soon and truancy will begin to be involved when students are not working from home.
        • We are offering both live and recorded opportunities to engage with content and the teachers at RMS.  We highly recommend attending the LIVE sessions to interact with teachers and peers.  We do know this isn't always possible for all, but the opportunity to interact with teachers is critical during this time.  Videos are recorded and posted for those who can't view the lessons live.  Teachers can see when students aren't watching the videos.  Students need to watch the videos in order to be successful with the lessons.  Teachers are able to run reports to determine time spent in programming.
